And yeah I dont mind this job its not for every one though. The one major draw back is having to be stuck offshore for 6 weeks.

I work on the Exploration side of the business so mainly Seismic ships on 6 or 5 week on off rotations. Not the shorter rotations of 2 to 4 weeks that they do on the rigs.
So advantages are you get allmost 6 months off a year fully paid and fly door to door anywhere in the world for your 6 week break period.
Can play havoc on relationships though when your away for so long.
Another good thing I guess is no alcohol for 6 weeks while at work so you give the body a bit of a rest after 6 weeks of living it up.

Indeed Shauno, you must find the 2 weeks on/2 weeks off thing horrendous.

Some government industries go 24/7 as well, with normal 12hr shifts

Yeah well dont complain to much. I’m working offshore south china sea. Oil and Gas industry never shuts down 24hours a day 365 days a year. And had to work a normal 12 hour shift as well. We did get as much lobster as we could eat though hehe

Excuse my typo. I start at 1800 NYE and finish at 0600 (maybe) New Years Day….hard enough for you? And yes, right in the middle of all of it

nice for some isnt it? others are welded to thier desks not able to get leave. I have 345 hours at full pay and keep getting the same old same old “cant allow you to go as leave has been allocated”. how do i become a Pube ? seems that thier lot is a succulent one
