Canberra kangaroos relocation to Gold Coast aint working out

North Melbourne (AKA Canberra Kangaroos) have plummeting membership numbers, following their semi-relocation to the Gold Coast according to the
herald sun

Im curious to know how many canberra based members have not rejoined this year.

From the article ‘ The Kangaroos are down 1300 on this time last year’… and this includes 1000 paid up members on the gold coast.

Soon to go the way of fitzroy, south melbourne and university i fear.

The AFL will continue to bail them out for the next 5 years at least – a $160mill per year contract guarenteeing 8 games a week sees that an absolute certainty…

I’m afraid the Kangaroos were misguided or misled in relocating those games to the Gold Coast. They will be up against Rugby League and an already entrenched Brisbane Lions fan base. I am personally aware of a large number of Lions members resident on the Gold Coast who will not change allegances to the Roo intruders!
