The Canberra Outrigger Canoe Club will be holding a novice course to encourage people to get involved in the sport.
When: The course will run on Thursdays at 5.30pm from 8 to 29 October, with the option of paddling with the club on Saturday mornings. The course will wrap up with an optional coast trip to Mollymook late October for a social day of ocean paddling.
Where: Kingston Foreshore
How much: $50 which will go towards your membership if you join the club (excluding the optional coast trip)
What’s the focus: History and culture of outrigging, technique and fitness, core muscle strength and racing
Why participate: Meet new people, get active on the lake and suitable for all ages, sizes and fitness levels
