Canberra unicycle style – Uninats 2010

We don’t know how we missed the “Uninats” being held for unicycles in Canberra this year.

Fortunately YouTube brings the highlights of the one-wheeled outrages to public decency. Fortunately it doesn’t look like they’ll be breeding.

A friend from interstate brought her son to Uninats, I went to have a look at what they were doing and thought they were impressive. A very friendly and varied crowd, from kids to grandparents, some great stunts from the experts and lots of teaching and encouragement for beginners. I would encourage them to breed!

Yellow, the whole mountain biking scene is like that too. People are just out to have good clean fun.

When I was riding the Capital Punishment earlier this year & trudging through the slop that was Deeks Forest the Elite 100k riders came through. Adfter 80 odd km in the shittiest conditions I have ever ridden in they still had words of encouragement FOR US!!!!

I was greatful that they took the time out to mutter even just a few words as they flew past at double the pace I was riding.

Great sport to be involved in no matter what the haters in cars say.

Cool!

Was half expecting to see a race around the crit course… with or without roller derby rules 🙂

Agree with the others – I think this is great, too.

I was in Belco one time and a unicyclist rode past. One of the guys who was also outside thought it was great and told him “mate sweet as….do a wheelie!”
Just thought i’d point out some nice stupidity 😀

Yup one of the guys who did the Three Ringed Circus is a local here.
Quite a few of our younger ones placed at uninats too.

I reckon they are fantastic. On the 2008 Great Vic Bike Ride, a rider did 550 Km on his unicycle. There is a guy up at Kippax that’s pretty cool also. Just envy on my part.

There was two guys at the Three Ringed Circus this year that rode the whole 50km on a unicycle, geez I felt soft after hearing that they did it, particularly when they finished ahead of me………
