Everything they say about volunteering is right – it is good for you! It makes you feel like you have something extra to give and that’s a great feeling. So, for the past 3 years, I’ve served on the Board of Capital Arts Patrons Organisation (CAPO) – the longest running Arts philanthropic organisation in Australia. We run an arts funding program that’s entirely independent of government. Since beginning in 1983, CAPO has awarded over $1.8 million dollars to artists in the Canberra region. We fund our program by putting on a fabulous annual art exhibition, party and art auction. This year, we’re celebrating 30 years and teaming up with Canberra Museum and Gallery to present our best party yet!
