A 42-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with aggravated robbery and assault that occurred last week (Friday, 17 January).

Police will allege that the man and a friend approached a woman who was asleep in her car at an address in Chisholm around 5am on Friday morning, physically assaulted her with a torch and stole her mobile phone and car keys. The man then stole the victim’s car.

Yesterday morning (Sunday 19 January), police located the stolen vehicle at an address in Kambah and conducted a forensic examination.

The man was located shortly after by police at the Kambah Village Shopping Centre. He was arrested for robbery and assault and taken to the Tuggeranong Police Station for questioning.
