Hello from the Inner South Canberra Community Council

We are being consulted!

If you aren’t happy with the current unsatisfactory process of how you might get to know about what’s being built near you, you can have a say in the new guidelines for new consultation requirements.

All are welcome to come to the Inner South Canberra Community Council public meeting next Thursday night 22 March to hear what changes the Government has for notifying and, in particular consulting, on new Development Applications. And then have your say about how to make the process work properly.

New requirements exist under the Planning and Building Legislation that will require developers to consult with the community before they lodge large scale development applications. Guidelines will be used to provide advice to developers on options for consulting with the community and these guidelines are to be prepared prior to the introduction of these new requirements.

We have a guest speaker who will outline the new legislation and will then seek our comments on draft guidelines for pre-DA community consultation.

Meeting details:

All are welcome at 7 pm. Between 7 and 8 pm we will discuss issues and list them for presentation to the speaker. At 8 pm the speaker will make a presentation and then seek our input and discussion.

The venue is the Harmonie German Club, 49 Jerrabomberra Ave, Narrabundah

Hope you can make it.

Sue Ross

Secretary ISCCC
