CRAAAZY MORTGAGES with free coffee! Seems Legit?

For most people a mortgage is the single largest and most serious financial transaction they’ll ever be involved in.

So we were intrigued by the NAB’s signage on Ainslie Avenue.

With the garish colours, and special offers one would normally associate with a used car yard, one has to wonder what that coffee’s going to cost you in the long run?

KRAMER: (Speaking very fast and fidgety) You can’t put a limit on my cafe lattes, it says so right here. And I don’t want to get dirty looks when I come in here. If I want a cafe latte, you give me a cafe latte. And if I have any problems I’m gonna get my lawyer Jackie Chiles down here and your gonna be in really big trouble.

The signage was painted about a month ago by Legend Signs, and I agree it is great to see someone still using traditional signwriting methods. Sadly less than a week later some knob(s) had scratched half of it away. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Dang, that sucks. 🙁

You’re right, but it’s nice to see what looks to be some proper sign writing and not vinyl cut lettering.

I’m surprised there’s still someone in town offering such a service. Should be more of it!

Their sales must be grinding to a halt

Lots of property related stuff is grinding to a halt. One of the big problems is that building has slowed right down. This will be a problem going forward as well don’t really have enough local stock to meet projected population a few years out.

Well it’ll be a problem if population grows as projected and we don’t build anything. Not having enough stock in the present to meet demand in a few years time is hardly a problem. There’s a pretty big glut of commercial and residential property at the moment.

There’s definitely commercial property to spare, but I think you’ll find that there isn’t as much resi as people think. Lots of the stock for sale is occupied, and these people have to go somewhere.

The big concern, I think, is the Molonglo Valley suburbs. Building is barely crawling along there, and that’s supposed to be the next big development area. The problem? Too damn expensive…

Bewdy, I hope they next erect one of those tall flappy things that flail their arms around. Love those!

NAB is one of the banks I will never, ever approach for a home loan. Even if they put up a flappy thing.

It’s interesting that the banks seem to be going back on to the offensive in advertising home loans. The market is pretty quiet at the moment, so volume is probably down.

It’s a good time to buy, not so good a time to sell.
