Dance Classes in Canberra?

By Mitzi_girl - 14 October 2010 4

I’m looking for good ‘jive’ or ‘boogie woogie’ classes in Canberra.

Has anyone got any ideas on this?

I have been through the books and online, but no go! Thanks.

What’s Your opinion?

K’Motion has swing classes (http://kmotiondance.com.au) but not sure if that’s quite what you’re after.

Hi Mitzi-girl,

Like you I am interested in dancing.
Penny de Kauwe (at Italian Club) teaches jive as part of her ballroom classes, and in between school terms she often has a dedicated “jive” class. I find these professional dance classes very expensive.
You can learn “rock n roll” which is more correctly called “rockabilly” I understand, at the Southside Rock n Roll club who hold classes at the Burns Club Kambah every Sunday afternoon (at 3pm I think). These classes used to b e a gold coin donation, not sure what they charge now but it will be inexpensive.
