Another weekend, another Brumbies home game at the stadium in Bruce. On Saturday there is the Canberra Harvest Festival for those who want to go green in the garden. Plus there’s the Canberra Airport open day, for those who like that sort of thing, on Sunday, or you can go scouring Canberra’s streets looking for free stuff as part of Second Hand Sunday.

But if you’ve got anything rivalling that level of excitement happening, let us know in the comments.

Classic Metal at the Maram (Friday night, The Maram: Erindale Centre, Southside)

Live Evil presents an epic night of Classic Metal, with hits from Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, Black Sabbath and the rest of the Classic Metal legends.

Sure to be a HUGE night, particularly for denizens of the Southside.

Canberra Model Railway Club is showing their “12th Street Yard” at Kaleen High School Hall. Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-4pm.

Hashemoto & Ellis Collective at the Stromlo Palais

This Sunday at 3pm we (a band called Hashemoto) are heading to the top of Mt Stromlo to play in the old telescope at the top of Mt Stromlo, with the fabulous Ellis Collective. It’s free and we’re just doing it because we think it will be a nice time. In fact, a guaranteed nice time or your money back. Which isn’t saying much if it’s free. And then Hadley will pass the hat around and, having been told it’s free, you’ll feel like you’ve been tricked. That’s showbiz. But anyway…

The folk at the bureau say “cloud increasing”, so just imagine the evening wrapping up with the one of those fabulous autumnal sunsets, the kids running round on the lawn and the CMC barbie smoking away. I can’t wait.

Details at http://www.hashemoto.com

See you there!

Potsy

PS, if you don’t want to bring the kids, just buy a time machine like this one on the NZ trademe: trademe ad. You can look after the kids and then come back to see the gig. How they thought they’d get it going with out a time crisis pedal is beyond me. I would have though that was basic physics, but don’t worry they’re still available if you look on ebay: time machine pedal.

Mr. Fibby, Swoon & The Barons Of Tang play tomorrow night at The Merry Muse Folk Club, which is in the Turner Bowlo, which itself is the Southern Cross Club, which is on a street in Turner. Zmood!

Also Roller Derby on Saturday night, and acoustic pleasantness out at Mount Stromlo 3PM Sunday with Hashemoto & The Ellis Collective! hah cha cha!

Sunday 28 March, 7:30pm
Tickets : $10
Woden Tradies, Cnr Launceston St and Furzer St

A unique night of improvisation with scenes and stories created from audience suggestion that will flow from comedy, cute and quirky to melodrama and potentially dark drama. Four pairs will each perform a 19 minute collection of scenes and stories ‘never to be repeated’!

A great night for those audiences who are fans of improvisation shows like Who’s Line Is It Anyway? and Thank God You’re Here as well as those people looking for an inexpensive new type of theatre experience.
