I thought it was only the Germans who were into ‘watersports’????

or stapling jellyfish to your ceiling.

An hour has passed. Time for me to mention something about water sports.

Has anybody made the link between water sports and belgian theme yet – other than Thumper giving the game away at 9.16am ?

**Disclaimer**
All that stuff I said involving water sports is fabricated. Put the hair-gel and the lynx body spray away, hundreds of hot chicks aren’t coming to Canberra.

now to 25 November 2007 / To Flanders Field, 1917 exhibition
Special Exhibitions Gallery, Australian War Memorial – Treloar Crescent, Campbell, Canberra
p. 02 6243 4211 e. email us http://www.awm.gov.au

In the Australian experience of war, no year has been more tragic than 1917. It was a period that ended much as it
had begun with the troops bogged in the muddy trenches of France and Belgium. In the intervening twelve months
great battles were fought at Bullecourt, Messines, and in a series collectively known as the Third Battle of Ypres.
Twenty thousands Australians were killed and a further 50,000 were wounded or maimed. To mark the 90th
anniversary of the battles of 1917, the Australian War Memorial will present an exhibition, To Flanders Fields, 1917.
The service, courage and sacrifice of Australian soldiers will be depicted through photographs, film and historical
material from all the Memorial’s rich collections. A feature of the exhibition will be paintings and film borrowed from
museums in Belgium / Free entry / More details
