In the local theatre stakes, it’s “Musicals based on Real People” time:

– “The Sound of Music” (based on the life of Maria Von Trapp) finishes off on Saturday 3 Jun in Queenbeyan
– “Tarantara! Tarantara” (based on the lives and works of Gilbert and Sullivan) finishes off at the Southern Cross club as well, on Saturday 3 Jun.

There’s also what’s described as “an evening of explosive drumming” at the ANU arts centre with DRUMatIX on Friday 2nd at 7:30, with a matinee on Saturday 3rd at 1pm.

The Tullys will be appearing at “Coffee and Chord” at Westfield – Belconnen Mall from 12 – 2pm on Sunday arvo.

Red Menace, The Chuffs and Dogact at the Potbelly on Friday night. $3 entry after 8pm or free if before 8pm

Palermo Express play at Jumptown’s third birthday dance. Saturday night, 8pm at the Austrian-Australian Club, Heard St, Mawson. $15.

Little Smoke play the Holy Grail, Civic on Friday night.
