The Canberra Christmas Market returns in 2017 to spread the Christmas cheer.
Bring your family along and enjoy an exquisite variety of Christmas stalls selling everything from cookies, Christmas puddings and cakes, chutneys, linen, fashion accessories, makeup, Christmas baskets, and chocolate Christmas trees! There will even be three entire stalls dedicated to cat-lovers, as well as a flower stall selling wreaths, and a vinyl stall for all you vinyl lovers.
Food stalls will be set up outside, sampling an array of delicious delights so that no one will go hungry.
There are plenty of activities to keep the little ones happy too – Santa Clause will be making a personal visit to the Market, and stalls will be selling a variety of toys – just in case Santa loses his naughty or nice list.
Cathy Wall, co-organiser of the Market says there will be 105 stalls in total, and some wonderful photographers who will be capturing all the excitement. “The Market is free entry, and it’s going to be very busy so make sure you get in early to get good parking,” she says.
The event kicks off at 9 am on 9 December and will wrap up at 3 pm on the 10th.
One of the stalls that will feature at the Christmas Market is Lipstick Lady Australia, the Canberra distributor of the ethically-sourced, US-made lipstick brand LipSense. Owner Thanh Dotta says she was inspired to start this business in Canberra on her wedding day:
“For my wedding, a friend of mine bought me a lipstick kit from overseas called Lipsense. I wore the red lipstick on my wedding day and to my surprise, it didn’t bleed, smudge when I kissed hubby at the altar, or rub off after 3 meals. The colour on my lips stayed for 18 hours. I decided that the ladies of Canberra deserved the best lipstick that there is to offer – so I created a local business “Lipstick Lady Australia” as an independent distributor of LipSense,” she says.

Besides being smudge-free, LipSense is also free from animal cruelty, free from lead and mercury, and vegan-friendly.
Dotta is passionate about her products and is sure you will love it too. “At the markets, I will be giving ladies a chance to try the product using hygienic disposable methods where they can sample 30+ products. I will have colours, glosses, and make up removers for sale. Plus in the spirit of Christmas, at the Lipstick Lady Australia stall, there will be gifts and giveaways including cosmetic bags”, she says.
