8:35am Wednesday 12 January 2011 – Man falls into trench in City ACT Ambulance Service and ACT Fire Brigade on scene of an construction accident on Childers Street and University Ave, Acton.
A 39-year-old male patient has sustained head, chest and spinal injuries as a result of a fall from ground level into a deep trench.
Firefighters estimate patient has fallen six metres.
ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics are transporting patient to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
