Fire in Florey last night

The following in from the ESA:

:55pm Tuesday 18 May 2010 – House fire at Florey ACT Fire Brigade has extinguished a fire in a three bedroom house on Cooling Place, Florey.

Occupants of the house safely self evacuated following notification of a smoke alarm.

Fire started in bedroom and house has significant fire and smoke damage. Accidental cause has been determined. Estimated damage $400,000.

No neighbours properties affected.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) Call 6.45pm.

I live adjacent to Cooling Pl, We heard a lot of sirens around but as it was post dinner time choas didn’t pay too much attention. That was until about the fourth siren and I had a look outside. Four ACT Fire Brigade vehicles in attendance, lots of smoke and plenty of rubber necking.
