Good Food Month returns to Canberra this March with some incredible events filling the calendar. In addition to some already sold out events, there is a host of fantastic local offerings captained by some of Canberra’s best and brightest culinary talent and showcasing some of the best produce in the world.
There is no food product more indulgent and exclusive than caviar. QT Canberra has put together a masterclass to help you learn your fish roe from your caviar in a setting that is almost as exclusive as the ingredient itself – the QT Lounge.
Join dedicated caviar ambassador Lisa Downs in the QT Lounge to celebrate a unique range of caviar. Having just returned from the Calvisius Caviar Farm in Italy, and the winter harvest of Sterling caviar in California, she has an abundance of eager knowledge to share.
In this evening of indulgence, you will be transported through the history of caviar. It’s a chance to share why it is so loved, what the caviar market is like today, how caviar is sustainably sourced, what creates demand and how to taste it.
You’ll explore three of the most famous caviars in the world; produced by different species of Sturgeon and coming from different countries. · Siberian Oscietra · Russian Oscietra · Beluga.
QT Executive Chef Michael Box says “Lisa will be showcasing some of the best caviar on the market.”
“There will be three types of caviar which are all complimented with delicate blini’s and classic condiments.”
The event is also an opportunity to explore the very chic QT Lounge. This iconic venue is located on the 15th floor of QT Canberra and is the capital’s most exclusive meeting place.
Usually, it is an invitation-only member’s lounge where you can have a private pow-wow, far from prying eyes and ears. Unlike other bars in Canberra, discreet alcoves are serviced by stealthy wait staff, all perched high on the top level of QT Canberra with magnificent views of Lake Burley Griffin and the city surrounds. There are even secret rooms, private hideaways and secluded spaces for those wanting to take the edge off after a long day.
