Oh dude, of course it’s still important. While they don’t need it to sell advertising, they still need it to justify the use of public money.

Ah yes – tis but temporary, it’s nothing personal, Mr Solly is probably a very pleasant person, I just expect more from the ABC. Yes the ladies can be a bit mumsy and parochial, maybe I listen to too much BBC and expect the same standard.

Yeah, I think that must a pre-requisite for 666. Maher, Sloan and Jacobs all kind of morph into the one persona for mine. Okay most of the time, quite good even, but every now and then you get a huge whack of schmaltz and cheesiness that borders on embarrassment.

Agree with the ‘Mumsy’ descriptor, but she’s not half as bad as the loons they had on last year – fill in producers, which I got so over I posted here about too. Louise Maher is a nice person who has reasonable content. Last year from memory was content that seemed to be made up on the run. Salad, and stories that were always ‘coming up later…’ – that being their constant filler line.

I like Ross – and most people do judging by their ratings.

From what I heard from others during the recent ACT election he’s apparently pretty bad in that department and lets his own personal opinions shape who he does or doesn’t interview. Well, either its him or his programming manager. For an organisation that is supposed to be apolitical, you would expect something a little more objective.

Oh could Canberra be so lucky in its centenary year as to finally have its airwaves free of that ignorant, inarticulate farmboy? I sure hope so. Canberra and Canberrans are so much better than that.
