Googong man charged with child exploitation offences

A 36-year-old man from Googong will face Queanbeyan Local Court after he was allegedly found in possession of child exploitation material.

ACT Policing’s Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team arrested the man yesterday (13 May) and executed a search warrant at his home.

An ACT Policing spokesperson said police will allege images and videos of child exploitation material were located on his smartphone.

The man received police bail to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court on 3 August 2020, charged with possessing child abuse material obtained via the internet.

Members of the public who have any information about people involved in child abuse are urged to call Crime stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via Crime Stoppers. Information can be provided anonymously.
