Gordon house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue are currently on scene at a house fire on McGilvray Close, Gordon.

Firefighters are working to extinguish the fire and protect exposures on adjoining properties.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics are also on scene supporting operations with no injuries reported.

9:13 AM

Firefghters have contained the fire.

No current threat to adjoining properties.

Three fire pumpers and two commanders currently on scene. The Breathing Apparatus Van has also been requested and will be on scene shortly.

One female occupant and a child safely self evacuated.

Multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls from 8.57am.

Fire crews are continuing to eliminate hot spots through the structure with the majority of the fire extinguished.

Extensive damage to the three bedroom house including a partial roof collapse.

Update to follow

9:58 AM

Fire has been extinguished and fire crews are patrolling the area for any hot spots.

A substantial roof collapse has now eventuated.

The ACT Fire & Rescue fire investigation unit will be on scene shortly to begin investigations into the cause of the fire.
