Gorman House night markets are on one level pretty much what you’d expect. The same sort of traders and entertainers and food vendors, but at night.
On another level, well, it’s at night.
The dark has a power to transform and the whole event really does have a touch of magic to it. (And before you ask; I had not been drinking beforehand).
The mulled wine certainly added something special on a cold Canberra night and the fire-twirlers were exactly as half-arsed yet spectacular as you might expect from pyro-acrobats with dreadlocks.
We’ll let you know of upcoming ones. Video of fire-twirlers and a slideshow below.
Looked quiet and cold
If only this were on during warmer weather, I would have been more inclined to turn up. I have more faith in the Gorman House folks organising a good night market than NCA though. Hope it was successful for them.
I was there mid morning to mid afternoon and had a thoroughly enjoyable time lounging around in the pre spring sun, which was pleasantly warm, drinking various beverages and watching people pretend to be Normans.
