Hey Kiddies. A friend asked me to post this for him. He’s not a member, but is a regular reader. Head over to the Pot Belly on Friday night, and hear some great music, sink a few beeries, and support a great cause. Mael and Thumper will no doubt be there anyway…..

Thanks guys.

Chris Bond, a young Canberran, has recently been diagnosed with leukaemia.

In the fight for his life both his legs and his left hand were amputated.

His family home now requires extensive modification to become wheelchair accessible so that he can perform basic functions such as using the toilet or washing. Currently he has to be hand washed and must use a bottle or a pot when he requires the toilet.

He also needs a wheelchair for basic mobility.

In addition to these basic requirements, he will also have to be fitted with suitable prosthetics.

We are raising money to assist Chris and his family during these difficult times.

On Friday May 5 a group of Canberra musicians will be playing at the Pot Belly to raise money to help Chris. All money raised will go to the Chris Bond Foundation.

$5 entry fee payable at the door. First in best dressed.

Tickets can be pre-arranged to secure your place by e-mailing nmontagu@tpg.com.au

The bands who are playing are as follows:

MOG
PETE HARRISON
MARK TURNER
FROM THE SOUTH
TENSUE
+ SPECIAL GUESTS

The Burns Club from Kambah has kicked off the evening’s fundraising already, with a donation of $500. We would like to sincerely thank them for their kindness.

If you or your business is keen to offer a donation to the Chris Bond Foundation, please contact Nick on the email above.

Please note that this has all been put together so quickly, the foundation is not yet registered as a charity, so it’s unlikely that donations will
be tax deductible.

We ask that you please come to Pot Belly on Friday night or make a donation to help this unfortunate young Canberran.

Thanks,

The Bands.

I think the night made about $500 on top of the burns club donation plus Barrel of Monkeys and Super Best Friends have also donated their door takings from their gig on the same night… which added another $290…

Hopefully that helps the family out a bit…
