Highball has opened its doors once again and this iteration of the popular bar is “bigger, better, and a little more boujee!”.

Fans of the old Highball will be pleased to see that the new location maintains the lush, tropical palette and breezy fun atmosphere with a glassed-in terrace overlooking the city’s nightlife.

The entrance is more of a grand affair this time around with a door from London Circuit opening up to a wide staircase: no more back alley shenanigans to find the secret stairs!

Big windows let in plenty of natural light for those perfect night-out selfies among plush velvet chairs.

Highball is probably not a bar for quiet romantic tete-a-tete, but it’s perfect for a night out with your crew.

Share a boozy punchbowl like the Pornstar Punch or if you’re feeling especially ‘extra’ the menu invites you to ‘feel all the feels’ as you mix and match yourself an Insta-worthy Daiquiri tree! Grown up slushies like Papi’s Margarita and the raspberry Bacardi-infused Frambuesa will certainly prove popular for summer sundowners, or choose from the wide selection of signature classics and barrel aged cocktails.

The food menu ranges from delicate Canadian Scallop Ceviche with mezcal compressed watermelon, pickled cucumber, avocado, corn chips to freshly baked Peruvian-style Empanadas from local food business Mr. Papa’s. Or grab a pulled pork, leg ham, and pickle-filled ‘El Jefe’ Cubano sandwich for that extra carb-y hit of energy to hit the floor and salsa the night away!

The new Highball also includes a private space called Casita Bar. Extra lush and green, this space is designed for exclusive parties, hen’s nights, engagements and more.

Highball is also continuing its popular cocktail classes – be sure to book ahead to get the scoop on shaking up the perfect paloma, pisco sour or pina colada!

Hospitality group Lala are the pros behind Canberra favourites Molly and 88mph and the bar service is similarly fast and flashy with a team of male cocktail waiters in striped shirts shaking and stirring delicious boozy concoctions at breakneck speed.

With space for 200 patrons across the venue, Highball is set to be the summer hotspot for boujee nights out.

Highball is open seven days a week from 4 pm until late. The entrance to the bar is located in the Melbourne Building, 77 London Circuit.
