That’s Darren Hanlon, he’s pretty good. He’s also playing at No Need To Be Told amongst a bunch of other people who are quite good.

The Centenary of Canberra and local funny singing man Rafe Morris are putting together an afternoon/evening of celebratory things to celebrate Youth Week. Youth Week is this week, and this event is this weekend. It’s called No Need To Be Told and it’s taking place in Civic Square

They’ve put together a bit of an exciting line-up of musicians and speakers and THINGS. Check out this list.

Music:
4:00 BETH ’N’ BEN
4:40 BABA ISRAEL (NYC) + MC TREY (SYD) + KODAK
5:40 PARTY GRAVY
6:25 LAVERS
7:00 DARREN HANLON (QLD)

Activism Workshops:
4:15 CLIVE HAMILTON – Youth Activism: Taking Risks for the Planet
4:50 JONATHAN MOYLAN – Civil Disobedience in the Coal Rush
5:30 SHANE RATTENBURY – Managing Campaigns
6:10 JANE SPEECHLEY – Promoting Campaigns

Music Workshops:
7:00 MC TREY – Rap/MC workshop
7:30 KODAK – Beatbox workshop

There’s also live street art, vintage clothes, poetry, and a whole bunch of stuff. Check out the website for a full list.

Also promised are 500 rubber ducks in a fountain… so even if none of the other stuff appeals to you, it’ll probably be worth going just to steal a rubber duck off Rafe.
