A small fire has been extinguished in Gungahlin this afternoon.

ACT Fire & Fire Rescue and the ACT Rural Fire Service were alerted to the incident just before 4.30pm.

Multiple units were quickly dispatched to the scene and put the fire out.

The area burnt was 1 metre x 1 metre.

I’m not claiming to be an expert, but total fire bans are put in place for a reason. No need for the snide attitude.

I drove past at that time and there were 3 fire engines (yes, 3) and one police car……I was trying to see why they were there as there wasn’t any visible signs of a fire…..they were using a fire extinguisher….but at least they were there 🙂

That name rings a bell.

aus.politics, anyone?

Now that’s a Blast from the Past.

This reminds me of the bin fires we’ve had in Manuka. It’s ok because cafes have buckets they can easily fill with water, but if everyone with a clue is upwind or inside, you end up with a trashed bin and a big mess for the firies to clean up.

Put your cigarettes out before you throw them away. And if you see a fire, just let the nearest person with a water supply know about it. Although they may stand there gaping like idiots while someone further away walks past with a bucket of water…

I wonder if C_C has had a career spanning a stint at AGs followed by a stint taxi-driving…?
