Chairman Stanhope, of the People Republic of Canberra has spent his morning handing out gongs to that section of the community renowned for their conscientious hard work and exemplary contributions to our community. Yes folks, the ACT Public Service Awards, where members of the People’s Commissariat of Internal Affairs, ooops, ACT public service are given a hearty slap on the back, a gong and a bit of cake for doing their job.
Having a look through the citations, one notices nothing overly outstanding, no great benefits to humanity just a bunch of bureaucrats doing their bit to keep the peasants from revolting.
