Macarthur firebug

By johnboy - 15 April 2013 4

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses following a large grass fire in MacArthur yesterday (April 15), which is believed to have been deliberately lit.

Around 2.10pm ACT Fire and Rescue requested police to attend a large grass fire at the end of Ebsworth Close.

The area affected was approximately 100 metres by 80 metres. Flames reached a height of 15 metres and it took ACT Fire and Rescue roughly one and a half hours to extinguish the blaze.

No property was damaged during the incident. A pipe and a bottle containing fluid were seized at the location.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area yesterday.

Anyone who may have any information, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

The precious residents of Macarthur can’t blame a gas fired power station/data centre this time. Instead the fire could have been fuelled by their whinging gasbagging.

Someone was perhaps inspired by the Black Mt burn.

Is this being reported from tomorrow? If so, can I borrow your TARDIS?
