The ESA has posted this warning:
5:20 Tuesday 5 October 2010 – Hazard reduction burn at Majura tomorrow night [today] The ACT Rural Fire Service will conduct a hazard reduction burn at Majura tomorrow night.
The location for the burn of timber piles is Olive Grove on Majura Road. This site is at the top of a hill and is highly visible from the whole of North Canberra and specifically the Federal Highway and Majura/Horse park Drive. It is likely smoke from the burn will be noticed on the city’s north side and further dependent on weather conditions.
The ACT Handy Map Grid Reference point for the burn is M10. It is scheduled to commence at 6:00pm.
