ACT Magistrates Court

A 45-year-old NSW man will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with a drink spiking-related offence.

About 9.50pm on Saturday 9 April, police responded to a report of drink spiking at a bar in Civic.

The victim had consumed part of her drink, began to feel unwell and noticed a substance in her glass. The victim alerted bar staff, who immediately reviewed CCTV footage and reported the incident to police.

On police arrival, the alleged offender was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

The victim was transported to The Canberra Hospital for medical examination.

The man will appear before court on a charge of Act Endangering Health.

Police remind readers they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter.

Pity there’s not an offence for ‘Intention to Assault in a Gutless Manner’

Let’s ask the AG to create a new offence of “being a dick”, with “degrees” of dickery corresponding with the severity of the crime.

Excellent work on the part of the victim, the club and the police, who have joined forces to produce a great result.
This miscreant, if guilty, will be publicly identified and hopefully banned from any venue that serves alcohol.

He has been identified publicly:
