Man charged with attempted murder after stabbing in Bonython

A man has now been charged with attempted murder after stabbing another man in the chest a few months ago.

Around 9.15pm on 28 June, police were called to an address in Bonython with reports a man had been stabbed.

On arrival, police found a man with a stab wound to the middle of his upper chest, with a knife close beside him. Paramedics attended and stabilised the victim and transported him to hospital.

A 29-year-old Bonython man was located at the scene and placed under arrest. Police will allege the man stabbed the victim after an altercation.

The man was initially charged with intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, but additional charges of attempted murder and possess an offensive weapon with intent will be laid against the man as he faces the ACT Magistrates Court today (6 August).
