A 32-year-old man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today charged with multiple driving offences, assaults and indecent exposure after a drug-fuelled rampage on Sunday afternoon.

Around 12 pm, police attended Tralee Street, Hume after receiving reports a man assaulted three members of the public before driving off in one of the victim’s vehicles.

A short time later, it is alleged the drug-affected man was driving in a southbound direction on the Monaro Highway when he swerved in front of a cyclist causing the cyclist to collide with the side of the vehicle and fall off his bicycle.

The man then assaulted the cyclist before two members of the public intervened.

It is alleged the man then walked onto the road and committed an indecent act whilst attempting to wave down traffic. Police arrested the man who was running in a southerly direction on Isabella Drive a short time later.

The man has been charged with negligent driving, four counts of common assault, indecent exposure, driving under the influence of a drug and aggravated dangerous driving. Police will oppose bail.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information or dash-cam footage that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
