Man to face court over bikie-related shooting

A 21-year-old Batemans Bay man will face court today (8 January) following a shooting incident in December linked to bikie gangs.

Police said that at about 7.20 pm on Monday, 16 December 2019, a man presented at the emergency department of Calvary Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh.

Police believed the incident was related to Outlaw Motorcycle Gang activity, and ACT Policing’s Taskforce Nemesis launched an investigation culminating in an arrest on Christmas Eve.

The man will face charges of recklessly inflicting actual bodily harm and failing to stop a motor vehicle for police. Bail will be opposed.

Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the shooting on 16 December 2019, or who may have information relating to the incident.
