The Rivett residence where Bobby Stuart Allan died.

A 49-year-old Griffith man has faced the ACT Magistrates Court today (Thursday, 1 February 2018) charged with the murder of 48-year-old Bobby Stuart Allan.

Bobby Stuart Allan was found dying in the front yard of  Rivett residence last December after being being violently assaulted.

He had gone to the Goodenia Street residence for help in the early hours of  17 December. He was only a short distance from where he lived at No 47.

ACT Policing said that after a seven-week investigation, the man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday, 31 January 2018) in Griffith and conveyed to the ACT Watch House, where he was interviewed by homicide detectives and charged with murder.

In court, Dean Phillip Welsh pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded in custody after choosing not to apply for bail.

Police said the investigation was ongoing and homicide detectives anticipated further arrests.

ACT Policing is urging anyone who may have any information in relation to the murder of Bobby Allan to contact police on 131 444, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via https://act.crimestoppers.com.au.
