The owners of the Zoo Bar and Grill are taking Canberra’s nightlife to the next level by launching the Mile High Club this Friday and Saturday night on the rooftop level of the venue.

Replacing Uni Pub in London Circuit, owner Rulla Bakri said the four levels will change the face of nightclubs in Canberra and will quickly become Canberra’s go-to destination on a Saturday night.

“I’m very excited about what we’ve done with all the levels at Zoo Bar,” she said.

“The decor we have in the Mile High Club is nothing like Canberra has ever seen. I see it as a step above everything else and it will attract a completely different type of person from when it was the Uni Pub.”

To launch the Mile High Club and celebrate Zoo Bar’s second anniversary, the rooftop venue will also welcome one of Australia’s most popular electropop music groups, Sneaky Sound System, with vocalist Miss Connie and producer/DJ Angus McDonald performing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Sydney-based promoter Rob Richards, who brought Boy George to Kokomo’s in 2017, will ensure a stellar lineup of music and artists at the nightclub and Ms Bakri said people can expect plenty more high-quality acts in the calibre of Sneaky Sound System at the Mile High Club.

“The entire concept has been to create a one-stop night-time destination,” she said.

“I’m investing a lot into this because you only get one shot at making nightclubs a success, so everything that I’ve done, I’ve done right.

“This top floor will bring more people over to this side of the city. Every level of the place will be busy, and we want to make sure that people leave their night out happy. People need to leave with a smile on their face.”

Each level of the Zoo Bar has a different theme and was created to promote an exclusive and luxury upper-class experience in the heart of the city while keeping the urban culture and lifestyle vibe with panoramic views of the Canberra skyline.

The ground level is the Zoo Bar and Grill where patrons can have a meal and casual get together. The second level is the Hustler pool hall, with pool tables and arcade games.

The next two floors boast the recently opened No Vacancy Cocktail Lounge and a nightclub, while the Mile High Club will take your nightclub experience to the next level.
