Mental Health Week is an annual national health promotion event that aims to:

• Increase community awareness and education about mental health issues
• Decrease the stigma, discrimination and prejudice still faced by people with mental health issues
• Make it easier for people to both recognise when they have a mental health problem and to seek assistance when they need it

This year Mental Health Week will run from Sunday 10th October to Saturday 16th October.

Here in the ACT we aim to engage and educate people about mental health through a week of interactive events across the Territory including an official launch, community festivals, art exhibitions, music and seminars.

We wish to invite you to the Mental Health Week 2010 Launch and Mindscapes Film Festival on Monday 11th of October.
