More money for carers if you give Katy another go

By johnboy - 2 August 2012 17

After 12 years in Government Katy Gallagher’s announced that if given four more years she’d spend more money on carers for young people with a disability:

If re-elected in 2012 ACT Labor will provide additional funding of $5,000 per person to provide an extra half-day support each week, or other much-needed assistance, to young people with a disability who have graduated from school.

What’s Your opinion?

What, both of them? Well, I’m sold. I love spending my tax money on the needs of the vast minority.

I have a school peer who was diagnosed with cancer shortly after we finished year 12. I think you vastly underestimate the number of people this will affect. Please think through your statements before you go around dismissing entire demographics.

Besides the fact that they’ve had 12 years to do this, and haven’t, where are they going to get that money from? Their most recent attempt at a budget has put us $300m in the red.

No deal, Katy.

Lol. Like you’d ever vote anything other than Liberal anyway.

Rusted-on conservatives railing against the enemy. Yawn.

But where are they going to get the money from?

Probably more fecking poker machines.

So speaking of giving Katy another go, has anyone released polling for the ACT yet?

Just like the rusted on Chardonnay socialist residents of inner-urban Nirvanaville that seem to be in the majority here in Canberra.

It takes a very dedicated Laborite to believe that our current lords and masters are at the very least inept, if not grossly incompetent and probably corrupt.

I’m not a big white wine fan, really. Nor do I live in the inner city (or vote Labor). Not sure what my choice of beverage or where I live has to do with anything. Beyond attempting to evade the use of actual thought by using crude, unrepresentative stereotypes, do you have anything to offer?

BAHAHAHAHAHA! If that’s not the pot calling the kettle black, I don’t know what is.

Keep it up and I’ll taunt your beverage of choice and accuse you of living near the city … maybe even of not being a True Australian TM.

I could even make some broad, unevidenced statements about how “most Australians” think a particular way and use that to justify my argument.

Riesling can be nice. Or sauvignon blanc. This political analysis comes to you from O’Connor.
Stay tuned for champagne is fun at 2pm.

The calibre of our politicians since self govt, regardless of ideology, has always been questionable but could any of us do better?

That should read not at the very least inept…

Proof read fail.

Just another sweetener to try to get us to vote for her, well, I think 12 years under Labor is more than enough.
