Only 1 week to go before an estimated 25,000 people gather in Commonwealth Park to be entertained by live music, play interactive audience games and of course watch the 16 films that made it to the finals of Tropfest 2011.

Hopefully the 16th film into the finals will be Tinman by Canberra team James Hunter & Simon Weaving. If you haven’t voted for it yet go to www.youtube/tropfest and give it the green thumb.

Trop Jr 2011 kicks of at 3pm with screening at 4pm. These are films made by under 15’s and it’s amazing to see what these kids are turning out.

Tropfest main program follows on from 5.30 with the Broadcast from Sydney hitting the giant screens from 7.30.

This is the Greenest Screening in Australia with all power coming from GreenPower and all merchants required to use recyclable or compostable utensils. There’s even people to sort your rubbish for you! WasteBusters from The Orana Stiener school will have 3 sorting stations. Last year they stopped nearly 2 tonnes of waste going into landfill.

Get there early to get a prime position. Bring a picnic or feed from the onsite catering. What a perfect way to see out the summer watching movies under the stars. For full details go to www.events.act.gov.au

Don’t forget to vote for Tinman. Voting closes Wed 16th

Last day of voting! Please consider sending some votes “Tinman”s way, to give this local entry a final push over the finish line to become the 16th Finalist film 🙂
