A welcoming and spacious home with six bedrooms and three bathrooms, 47 Sunnybar Parade in Karabar has so much to offer, especially for a multi-generational family.

Just a 20-minute drive from Canberra and within walking distance of schools and bus routes, the convenient access to amenities cuts out the stress. It’s on an up-and-coming street going through a lot of renovations and improvements. The location is also attractive.

“It’s got excellent proximity to the Queanbeyan showground and the best pubs in town,” home. by holly agent Bianca says.

Ideal for a large family, the property has two floors that are self-contained, and easily work as their own individual homes.

Each floor has its own bathroom, kitchen and living spaces, and the downstairs has its own access to the garden meaning older family members or teenagers don’t have to worry about stepping on each other’s toes when they come and go.

“It’s great for a diverse, multi-generational family, especially a combination family with older members who need their own individual space,” Bianca says.

So much of the home has been thoughtfully set up for a big family that would be cramped anywhere else. Each room has plenty of storage, the master has an ensuite, and the bedrooms don’t share walls, which is a big plus for parents who want to cut down on noise after a big day.

“It’s an incredibly big home. A lot of people could comfortably live here, and everyone could have their own personal space,” Bianca says.

The renovations are central to the home, but they don’t overshadow some vintage features: the dark Tasmanian oak cabinetry in the kitchen is a warm and homely reminder of classic homes, and the retro-style gazebo above the alfresco dining area is another classy touch.

“There’s a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom downstairs; they did so much modernising to the home,” Bianca says.

There are plenty of fun touches that really liven up the place, starting with the pink front door, brass showerheads and floral wallpaper in the study/gym, which creates a feeling of fun and playfulness.

“It’s a vibrant and welcoming home. It’s fun and eclectic. It really stands out, yet it’s been tastefully done up,” Bianca says.

The expansive feel of the home extends outside, with an alfresco dining area shaded for those hot summer months. This low-maintenance garden won’t tie you down, and there’s room for a trampoline and cubby house, as well as plenty of space for kids to play and parents to sit and relax.

“There’s so much space on offer. The house is big, the block is big, the garden is big,” Bianca says.

Each room has its own feel thanks to unique touches by the previous owners: cool-toned paintwork, polished brass light fixtures and pastel pink in a kid’s room. There’s so much versatility in this home, as well as opportunity for further renovations.

This home ticks so many boxes for a family looking to expand, while everything here has been set up for comfort, ease and good living without worry.
