karinya house mothers day gala

Karinya House caseworkers are at capacity, but you can help fund a new caseworker by bidding on Karinya House Mother’s Day auction items on ALLBIDS.

On May 3, Karinya House will hold their annual Mother’s Day Gala Dinner at the Southern Cross Club in Woden. The event is one of their most important fundraising events of the year, with monies raised going directly to support mothers and babies from the Canberra region who are facing a crisis situation.

The gala dinner is at capacity, but generous Canberra individuals and businesses have also offered up a great collection of goods and services which are being auctioned off on ALLBIDS right now.

If you’re still searching for the perfect Mother’s Day gift for your mum, why not bid on:

  • Tickets to the Fleetwood Mac and Hugh Jackman concerts (in the Audi corporate box – arguably the best seats in the house)
  • Clonakilla Shiraz Magnum signed by the winemaker
  • A night’s stay with full buffet breakfast at the new Mantra-MacArthur Hotel
  • A week away at Tuross Heads
  • Photography package
  • Hot air balloon ride
  • Artwork and ceramics
  • Plus so much more

You can see and bid on the Karinya House auction items on ALLBIDS.

The hammer goes down on Friday May 3 at 7 pm and successful bidders can pick up their items from the ALLBIDS showroom in Fyshwick on the Saturday morning before Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Rob Evans, CEO of ALLBIDS, says “We’re so pleased to be able to support Karinya House and the vital services they offer for vulnerable mothers and babies in the ACT. Buying one of the many fantastic items that have been donated means you are not only giving your mum a great gift, but supporting other mothers at the same time.

“We’d love Canberrans to dig deep on this one. There’s something for every mum, including some really unique ideas which are guaranteed to get a wow and a smile on Mother’s Day!”

Katey Johnstone, Managing Director of 180 Degree Marketing, is a long-time supporter of Karinya House and urges other Canberrans and businesses to show their support too.

“We support Karinya House as a local Canberra charity because of their dedication to making a true impact in the lives of women who are pregnant, and newborns in crisis. And the incredible team at Karinya House work around-the-clock to help them.”

180 Degree Marketing has partnered with Tallagandra Hill Winery to offer a memorable winery experience that includes:

  • An exquisite 3-course lunch at Tallagandra Hill
  • Two bottles of wine to enjoy with lunch based on winemaker recommendations
  • A tour of the vineyard and a wine tasting
  • 6 bottles of premium wine to take away

You can bid on the package on ALLBIDS.

Jo Saccasan, Finance and Business Manager for Karinya House, says all monies raised will go to funding a full time caseworker for 12 months.

“In addition to our signature items – Tallagandra Hill Winery experience, the magnificent magnum of Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier, and the tickets to two concerts generously donated by Audi Centre Canberra – we have 67 items in total. All of these are gifted by our donor base and corporate partners, and their support is vital.

“ALLBIDS also do this for nothing, so every dollar raised comes to Karinya House. It’s made a huge difference to our fundraising and we rely on this event and our Mother’s Day appeal to raise enough money. If we don’t, we have to review staffing costs moving forward.

“Currently our caseworkers are at capacity, which is concerning on many levels. We never want a pregnant or new mother in need to go without our services, and there has been an increase in women who desperately need our support. It’s very sad, and we need all the help we can get. The higher the bids and the more money we raise through our appeal, the more women we can help.”

The Karinya House auction ends Friday May 3 at 9 pm. The highest bidder on ALLBIDS is the winner at the end of the auction.
