Hey all,
Keep an eye out for my new book, it will be in stores October. The novel details a young mans downward spiral into the Japanese sex culture.
I am working on the official website, but for now please check out the plot details & fancy new cover here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beautiful_Cadavers

What’s Your opinion?
New novel by local author

I hate to be a raincloud on everybodys parade here, but unless I’m going bonkers that cover illustration shows a whole bunch of mutilated young females with limbs missing, bullet holes, blood pouring everywhere etc.
Call me crazy, but I’m not finding anything even remotely attractive or interesting in this. If the mutilation and murder of young women is what the book’s about, you can keep it
I thinks corrects grammers is unimportance, it is the stories thats matters I-filed
By the way, a few of my friends thought the book was awesome! Haven’t read it yet myself

it’s release? I hope you hired a proofreader! : ]
I recommend you read Tokyo Vice, by Jake Adelstein – sounds like your book’s already written but he offers a pretty good first-hand Western insight into the seedier parts of Japan’s underworld.
Good on you for getting it published. I’d love to hear more about the Canberra authors industry, it seems difficult to get consumer-level information (as opposed to finding out about workshops etc at the ACT Writers Centre) on locally published or authored books.

I see how it seems that way! The basic idea and reasoning behind this post was to see if there would be a market for this sort of book in Canberra. I have been given the oportunity to sell it to an overseas publisher, but it takes all the fun out of it. I wanted to see if I could drum up any interest at all locally before I commit to anything. I have spoken now to other local authors and there seems to be an industry here I never knew existed.
The more I think about it, the more I am edging towards an Australian release.
Thanks for all the kind words!
The novel is a fictional Autobiography, It’s based on an old Oscar Wilde quote “To become a spectator of one’s own life is to escape the suffering of life”.
I will be having a launch, as to where is still unknown. I think closer to it’s release I will have some vague idea, I will certainly update this page and keep everyone informed!

sounds interesting. too bad i will probably have forgotten about it by the time its out. is it just me or is this a bit premature? all the same, props to you mate, make another post when its out to remind us and we can actually get our hands on it!
Hope it reads well because it sounds fantastic!
I might buy two copies and send one to a certain RiotACT editor’s Japanese residing brother
Sounds like a very interesting read – I will have to get myself a copy.
Is it an autobiography, or just written in first-person using your name?
I assume you will be having a launch? Make sure you post the details here.
Cheers! It will be around the $19.95 mark, presented in a nice hardcover edition.
Good to see a local author getting published.
Sounds like an interesting tale – what price range will the book be in?
The cover has been designed by the wonderful and talented Lucy Knisley, more of her work can be found here: http://www.lucyknisley.com/
