The ABC tells us the University of Canberra will be home to a new super clinic that will offer a variety of services including radiology, pathology, pharmacy and psychology services.
As well as giving students access to a wide range of medical care at their doorstep, Frances Shannon, acting Vice-Chancellor, believes it will also benefit those students studying to enter the health industry.
“The super clinic also will provide us with more access to placements for our students which in the development of the health workforce at the moment is quite a significant issue,” she said. “Access to placement for those students in order that they learn on the job is always challenging and this provides an opportunity for that.”
The building, which will stand at four storeys tall and cost approximately 15 million, is expected to open in 2013.
