Events ACT have published details of the show they’re putting on for those who remain in town this New Year’s Eve.
The city will be in party mode on New Year’s Eve with two celebrations to bring in 2012.
Civic Square will play host to a family-friendly music line-up while Garema Place brings in the New Year with bass beats and high-energy dancing.
At 7.00pm families can head to Civic Square for an entertainment line-up for all ages with Ian Moss headlining, local Canberra band Heuristic to lead the party and the unique sound of the Bridge Between to keep you captivated. This is a great opportunity for parents to bring their children to Civic to enjoy the early fireworks at 9.00pm.
Then Civic will raise the roof with the Bass in the Place dance in Garema Place from 9.00pm. The city centre will play host to top mixing talent DJ Rush, DJ Rawson, DJ Chris Fraser and VJ Insan3.
One of Canberra’s most state-of-the-art pyrotechnic shows will complete the night, with the fireworks at midnight set to a soundtrack heralding in the New Year.
Both the Civic Square and Garema Place events are alcohol-free to encourage a safe and friendly atmosphere.
ACTION Buses will operate on a normal Saturday timetable, with the Nightrider service also available. Please refer to www.action.act.gov.au for all the details.
