non-covert Kingston surveillance?

By Potato - 20 September 2010 16

Has anyone else noticed there is always a (usually unmarked) AFP car sitting in the middle of Wentworth Avenue in Kingston near the intersection of Burke Cres facing the apartments on the western side of Wentworth?

What is with that?

That’s not enough. We want more asbestos! More asbestos!

Why on earth would you want more asbestos? Asbestos is a killer responsible for the death of many fine people including Bernie Banton. Are you approving of Banton’s death? Do you want more people to die a long and painful death from mesotheleoma? You really are a sick puppy.

It’s a Simpsons quote….

I suspect if you change the word people for politicians you might have exactly what Jethro had in mind.

The car is there because Julia Gillard lives in the flats on the other side of the road.

There is also a Protective Services car there as well.

why isn’t she at the Lodge?

Because rather than make use of the months that the Lodge was vacant and another two months on caretaker to make essential roof repairs, the responsible agency waited until the building was actually needed before getting into gear. So no doubt the additional security arrangements are costing more than the bloody roof repairs! Good work guys.

The roof of The Lodge is being repaired.

The AFP Uniform Protection originally would place a vehicle up towards Brodburger when deemed necessary. At some stage, Gillard moved down the road closer to Green Square and accordingly, the AFP were then seen there at times, normally when the Prime Minister was out of the country and Gillard was Acting PM.
On becoming PM, there is understandably more security and a small demountable building now in addition to the normal vehicle.

As for the lodge, it was reported on the news tonight that maintenance work is being done on the building including removing asbestos from the basement so it will be a while yet.

She’s still waiting for someone to vote her into the lodge.. maybe in 3 years? or not.
