It’s time for a good ole fashioned scam! I got this packet in the mail today, all very shiny and professionally produced from a “travel” company in Malaysia. I’ve never heard of them, never contacted them and never been to Malaysia, so I was much amused by their earnestness.
When I scratched off the ticket thingies, I was totally unsurpised to learn that I’d won second prize of $170k USD. Noticed on the back of the winning ticket that a successful person will have to pay “relevant taxes and charges” so there’s the gotcha.
Still, I have to say I’m impressed that in this day and age of godawefully constructed scam emails and backstories that someone’s gone to this much effort. Also this could be seductive (and costly) to a Rioter’s family member or friend, so beware.
