Local artist Paul Summerfield has put out a media release and artists’s statement on his new exhibition “Sky Aquarium” opening at The Front in Lyneham next week.

In this refreshing body of work, Summerfield has used his unique digital painting style to create fantastical landscapes that evoke glimmers of other worlds, past and future.

All are welcome at the exhibition’s official opening at 6pm on Thursday 3 May, which will include a performance by Canberra band, Cracked Actor.

The new collection shows the continued evolution of Summerfield’s work and includes the first hanging of ‘The Moad’, which was spectacularly projected onto Old Parliament House during the recent Enlighten Festival.

“These works follow on from the Secret Cities collection and some are set in the same worlds I created for that series,” says Summerfield.

“They are about vivid skies, lush sunsets and atmospheric moods. I’ve aimed to create works people can lose themselves in.

“I hope people find the stories in these works; that they interpret, explore and continue them in their own way.”
