Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Batemans Bay last night (Wednesday 28 December).
Just before 11pm, three men left a licensed premises on Orient Street and walked toward a taxi rank when they were approached by a group of men.
Police have been told a physical altercation took place between two of the men, with one of the men allegedly producing a knife before stabbing an 18-year-old man several times.
The 18-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for several stab wounds before being transferred to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attached to Far South Coast Local Area Command attended the location and commenced an investigation.
Police spoke to three men nearby a short time later, who were released pending further inquiries.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing and police are urging anyone with any information to contact detectives from Batemans Bay Police Station via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
