The Canberra Times has the unfortunate news that police have become involved in the dealings of the Islamic School of Canberra:

It has been reported that a letter of support submitted as part of the application contained a forged signature for a prominent Australian Taxation Office staffer, who was also president of the Islamic Society of the ACT.

The school’s principal Imam Ali said he could not comment on the investigation as it was being handled by the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, which owns the school.

But he confirmed classes were running as normal.

Henry, I agree 100%! The people who run this organisation have zero integrity and their NAPLAN results should be investigated urgently. Alternatively, NAPLAN should be administered at this school by independent teachers and the tests conducted (and papers held) offsite. A school with dysfunctional management and a constant turnover of (largely inexperienced) staff who are treated like ****, chewed up and spat out does not usually make for the kind of results they ‘achieve’!

It’s a cutural thing so there is no problem really. Please be tolerant.

I wonder who put in the complaint. Is there a suggestion the Islamic Society does not support the school’s expansion?

I wonder when somebody will look into their dodgy NAPLAN results……
