The girlfriend and I visited here for breakfast one Saturday morning, not long after we moved into our unit nearby. Didn’t have a good experience unfortunately. BimboGeek is spot on regarding the teenagers, and they were of course more interested in chatting to their friends (annoyingly hanging around in the café) or SMSing to take orders or run the place. Food was average, and the place had a general feeling of being let go. Needless to say we never went back.
My mental “If I was manager here I’d change the following things…” list was too long.
Pity really, I believe with a bit of care and attention that spot could be lovely.
The curse of Manuka Plaza strikes again. Are there any shops there that aren’t struggling? Bad location, bad layout, rents must be sky high. I remember browsing through the Dymocks that was there ages ago, and for the entire 15 minutes I was in there the owner/manager was on the phone complaining how bad business was and how he’d soon be broke. Not long after it closed. The cafe didn’t work, the candle shop didn’t work, FFS even Starbucks failed (well not just there).

The owners were in Melbourne and the staff were teenagers.
