The Canberra Raiders have bounced back after a month to forget with a dominant 42-12 win over the North Queensland Cowboys this afternoon in Canberra.

The Cowboys, missing Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott and James Tamou, all on origin duty, were the first to score when Ethan Lowe crossed after 18 minutes.

However a try to Paul Vaughan and a double to Jack Wighton meant the Raiders went to the break leading 18-6.

In a second half display that would have pleased coach Ricky Stuart the Raiders scored 4 more tries, with Jarrad Kennedy, Reece Robinson, Jarrod Croker and Anthony Milford all crossing the line.

Man of the match Jarod Croker kicked 7 from 8.

The Raiders next face the Roosters at Allianz Stadium in Sydney next Saturday night.
