Raiders lose big to the Broncos 34-6

A team with finals aspirations should really be able to push Brisbane when playing at home in the dead of winter [Apologies, the game was in Brisbane].

Sadly the Raider’s roll has come to a shuddering halt and they’re now pretty much locked out of the top four.

A 34-6 thrashing in front of a big crowd. Where to now?

And btw, Ray Warren repeatedly pronouncing Milne as “Millen” really shat me.

I don’t know about any agenda, but this post certainly sounds a lot like the hand-wringing coming from outlets such as the Tele. Anyone who thought before this game that the Raiders were a chance of finishing in the top 4 was kidding themselves.

This loss was not a gong for the end of our season, and it’s not even a wake-up call. It was a speed hump that we knew we’d have trouble with. We played well, we attacked well, we made quite a few errors (Tonguey, pay attention). The Broncos defended superbly and attacked just that much better than we were able to. They certainly deserve to be above the Roosters, and probably the Sharks too. For anyone to write the Raiders off after this loss shows they just haven’t been paying attention.

The Raiders WILL finish the regular season in the top eight, and my best prediction is 6th or 7th.

From there, we’ll have our chance to do our giant-killing thing again in the first couple of weeks of the finals. I don’t expect they’ll make it to the GF, but they’ll still finish pretty well. And then, those who for the past four season have been pointing the wooden spoon at us will retrieve it from their backsides and point it at some other team for ’09.

They were probably a bit distracted with all the Carney stuff over the last couple of weeks plus I think they had another “name” player (who’s name escapes me) out.

Haven’t been here for 18 months… posted the last two Raiders wins as they happened,

Quite the agenda I’m running.

Very predictable Johnboy. I notice that you always post the Raiders result when they lose, never when they win. In contrast, The Brumbies get a run when they win, never when they lose. Whats your agenda?
