The ACT Government is putting word out on ground closures:

All ACT Government sportsgrounds will be closed today Friday 19 July due to wet weather and the forecast of further showers.

The decision has been taken in order to minimise damage to the turf surfaces and in the interests of player safety.
The focus is on protecting grounds from unnecessary wear and tear during training and in allowing weekend competition to go ahead wherever possible.

The forecast for the weekend is for further showers with very cold temperatures therefore low evaporation rates and slow drying out of grounds.

Although the decision on whether weekend competitions will go ahead will be left with individual sporting associations to decide, Sport and Recreation Services has strongly encouraged that consideration be given to cancelling junior sport and the lower grades of competitions.

EDD apologises for any inconvenience.
